The Bat-Overture (Die Fledermaus - Strauss)
Arrangement for piano quintet
The overture of the operetta “Die Fledermaus“ (“The Bat“) is considered to be one of the most brilliant orchestral works by Johann Strauss II. Written as a traditional sonata form it leads the audience through the contrasty moods of the comedic story about Gabriel von Eisenstein and his wife Rosalinde with its gallant and memorable melodies.
With this arrangement for piano quintet the wonderful melodies of this operetta, which may just be the most famous operetta of the “Golden Area”, are made available for those who enjoy chamber music. Please do not hesitate to contact me for your individual instrumentation (for example salon orchestra/ ball orchestra).
